I agree with above I started Zumba back in March 2011 going twice a week. Then in October had a partial Hysterectomy, I felt getting fit before the op helped the recovery, exactly the same as Kristi.

So getting fit definately helps

Just wondering when to start the fitness back up because feeling good

I just had a laproscopy asst. vag. hysterectomy. I am a first degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and I also started basic yoga classes twice a week in July. I have NO doubt that these two activities have made my recovery much easier than I was told. I have almost no pain; I wouldn't even call it pain, just slight cramping feeling. I stopped taking pain meds two days after the surgery. I've been up and walking around the next two days and just feel great. My doc said that people like me are a problem because we're doing so well that we overdo before we're ready to get back into action.
I plan on going back to yoga before the TKD only because I can do breathing and easy movements.
Exercise! It will help. Before and After.
